Through the power of community, we can ELEVATE those on the autism spectrum

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit

About Us

Elevate The Spectrum is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to supporting New Mexico’s autism community. The organization was started by a group of parents of children on the autism spectrum who came together to form the support system in their city that was lacking. They organized a monthly meet-up and resource fair to share information and connect. In 2019 Elevate The Spectrum became an official non-profit and grew to include members from around the state with years of experience and areas of expertise. Understanding the importance of different perspectives, Elevate’s board includes self-advocates, parents, siblings, and providers to ensure all areas of autism are supported.

In 2020, the CDC updated the autism prevalence to 1 in 54 individuals under the age of 21. There is currently no data to determine the number of individuals living with autism in New Mexico.

Due to the current state of COVID-19, many students requiring special services are being left behind, leaving parents to pick up the pieces. With the next school year up in the air, our voices are needed now more than ever.

Elevate is currently offering on-line support groups for: moms, dads, adults on the spectrum, and siblings. Please follow our social-media pages and join one of the groups to gather information or just stay connected with people who get it.

If we want to elevate the individual, we must also elevate the systems and supports
